Kim Kardashian pens essay explaining why she’s not a feminist
She went on to say she was “not the free-the-nipple type girl” and that “no hate” is her thing.

In the clip, which she teased on Twitter, a young Kardashian poses with her dad, Robert right after receiving her diploma. Kim explains: “He sent a stylist over years ago and said, “You’ve got to clean out your closet this is embarrassing”, she recently told People.com, adding that at first she cried to see all of her Louboutins and rhinestone platforms discarded by her husband.
Kim said in the post that while she understands why so many are prone to call her a feminist – and while she definitely believes in feminism – she just doesn’t feel comfortable with the label.
That is a way stronger argument than saying, “It’s simply a personal choice that I don’t like the idea of being labeled”, as Kardashian did in her post, but still suspect.
Her comments received a lot of backlash from fans and celebrities alike, including documentary maker Billie JD porter who said: “So confused and disappointed by this Kim Kardashian interview where she proudly declares that she is not a feminist”.
“Of course I want these things!” she quickly added. And also I think that if men went down and women rose to power, that wouldn’t work either. “I’m all about empowering and uplifting women. I lived right behind Kitson [the boutique in LA]”.
Kardashian is not the only celebrity who would rather not put a label to their beliefs, though.
She went on to explain how labels such as “feminist”, “Democrat”, “plus-size” and “bisexual” create “separation”.
“I feel that being grouped or labelled can create separation between people who do (or don’t) fall into certain categories, when they may actually share numerous same beliefs and goals”, she finished.
Kim Kardashian announced that she is not a feminist in a blog post today on her website. “The fight for equality is about ALL human beings being treated equally-regardless of gender, sexuality or ethnicity”.
