Authorities found the 10-foot-long snake near the home where it escaped along Cloudt Road in Needville. The cobra reportedly escaped Tuesday.
Shortly after 4 p.m., the sheriff’s office notified residents the snake had been located in a Facebook posting. Texas Game Wardens assisted in the search.
According to a spokesman for the Needville Independent School District, state wildlife officials said the snake is near the campus, which includes the elementary, middle and high schools, but the snake was not on school property.
Sheriff Troy Nehls said the venom from a single king cobra bite “could kill an elephant or up to 20 men”. Cobra is same color as grass.

Two questions: Where is the nearest Whataburger, and has anyone seen a Jigglypuff nearby?
“I usually use hooks, I double check everything and lock all the cages she just happened to break through”.

Eventually the snake admitted defeat. They showed up with Chuck Norris and a flame thrower and I wasn’t in a position to argue.
