Sqaure Enix has released the new trailer for its latest installment in the Kingdom Hearts series, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. The story of the episode is a direct prologue for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3.

A playable demo of the game will also be available at this year’s E3 so expect actual gameplay footage to surface soon.
The main draw is Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep -A fragmentary passage-, which is an all-new chapter in the story that’ll lead in to the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III. The European version doesn’t have a release date yet. The trailer then turns to gameplay, showing the same mechanics as in previous Kingdom Hearts 3 trailers, showing the Fragmentary Passage game having a potential link to KH3. Be sure to say it aloud and in front of people who have no idea what Kingdom Hearts is. Aqua appears to retain her fighting style and abilities from BBS, but the game itself features next-generation graphics.

The end of the new trailer also confirms that Square Enix will share new announcements regarding Kingdom Hearts III “this winter”.
