Speaking in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu (via Gematsu), developers on the remake added that Square Enix has an idea how many installments they want to release for Final Fantasy VII Remake, they just aren’t at a point where they can talk about it yet. If you don’t recall, Square Enix made the controversial decision to release Final Fantasy VII Remake as a multi-part series.

There’s no word on a release date for the first part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake as of yet.

More information is expected from Scenario Writer Kazushige Nojima when the full article hits news stands. With news on the game coming more often than ever, we will surely learn more about these changes very soon. To put this into perspective, Final Fantasy VS XIII’s scenario was completed in 2010 and then the game turned into Final Fantasy XV, which is due out in 2016. Kitase indicated that some fans had already reached the right conclusion in suggesting that releasing the remake in any other way would have meant that essential bits of the game’s story would have to be eliminated. The current plan is to bring back the voice actors from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, though there is the chance that some characters will be recast.
