Kings edge Oilers for fifth consecutive win
The puck appeared to be in Quick’s glove, and his glove behind the goal line, but the refs ruled it wasn’t a goal initially and the review didn’t produce enough evidence to overturn the ruling.

The Kings scored a total of 23 goals while earning points in four of their five meetings (3-1-1) with the Oilers last season. “But you never know”.
The Kings have won four straight games, while Edmonton just gave up seven goals to Washington on Friday.
The National Hockey League said the official word was that the video replay was inconclusive because they were not able to determine if the McDavid shot had crossed the goal line completely.
– Kings center Anze Kopitar, with a grin, on Fox Sports West, reacting to Quick’s late save.
Said McDavid: “He made a good save”.
The Kings received their game winning goal from Tanner Pearson a left wing during a third period power play. “Just a desperation world-class save by a world-class goaltender”. He found the rebound from Jake Muzzin’s shot and slapped it past goalie Cam Talbot, helping Los Angeles ease concerns over an 0-3-0 start. The Kings are 4 for 8 on the power play in their last three games.
There’s still much to be sorted out on the Oilers’ blue-line, but it’s clear that the team is on the upswing, and Talbot is slowly proving to be a worthwhile gamble.
“They’ve got a great team over there”, he said.
Kopitar said his team showed character getting the game victor shortly after the Oilers tied it up in the late stages. They’re fast. So it’s tough. Even on that first power play, we had a few good looks.
All three were hard plays for the netminder due to either circumstance or defensive breakdowns, and all three came amidst a flurry of exceptional saves.

The Oilers tied the game with six minutes left in the third as Hall was able to tip a Nugent-Hopkins feed past Quick to make it 2-2. “It felt like we got a lot pucks to the net, and had guys in front of him taking away his eyes but unfortunately we couldn’t get one by him”. “Hopefully it’s the start of a couple more“.
