Kirk calls Trump “Eastern, privileged, wealthy bully”.
Trump’s session with Republican senators sounded more turbulent. According to the Post, Trump called Kirk a “loser” and predicted he would carry IL, which has not voted for a Republican for president since George H.W. Bush in 1988.

The determined march forward to the Republican convention continues.
And finally, Trump also apparently singled out Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Thursday afternoon for the first time in over two months.
“I like much of what he says, but I’m very concerned about the way he says it”, Sanford explained.
Even when some, such as Senator Jeff Sessions, said they were willing and waiting for a call from Trump, a narrative of Trump’s vice-presidential search being in trouble began to take shape.
Priebus told Fox News Thursday that Trump and Cruz had “a good conversation”, but said that because the meeting was private, he wouldn’t go into specifics.
With GOP lawmakers unanimous in their desire to beat Hillary Clinton this fall, some welcomed the reassurance and applauded Trump’s remarks.
Returning to the Senate in May after dropping out of the presidential race, Cruz would not express his support for Trump as the GOP nominee – but did not rule it out.
“We’re moving in the right direction everyday”, Spicer said.
“His message was that we need to come together and [he] really talked about the issues in regard to jobs, the fact that for the last several years, that people’s wages were flat”.
At one point, Trump turned directly to Ryan and seemed to acknowledge the lingering concerns. I don’t see that happening.
That explanation was well-received. “There will be plenty of time for voters to make the determination who they’re going to support”. “Things will all work out in November”, according to Rep. Ken Calvert of California.
Dozens of protesters awaited Trump, shouting slogans and waving signs that said Trump is “Dangerous, Divisive, Deceitful”.
The four U.S. House members joined their Republican colleagues for a meeting at the Capitol Hill Club. “Sending our jobs far overseas”.
The answer – or at least the beginning of it – comes Friday, when Trump will hold his first Miami campaign events in more than eight months. “And in the middle of this, you get this kind of smear?” he said. “We’re all moving in the same direction”, said Rep. Bill Shuster, who also has endorsed Trump.
Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., described Trump’s separate meeting with Republican senators as “cordial” and “meaty” on policy and said he thought it had been effective in swaying some senators to be less skeptical of Trump’s candidacy. He was referring to Trump having praised the late Iraqi dictator’s terrorist-killing prowess. “I think you’re seeing the process of unification start”, Scott said. “And I wake up and I look at the media and they say I love Saddam Hussein”.
He said he had no indication on his chances for being selected, or, as he put it, “Not a hint”.

Yet, Roger Stone, a long-time strong Trump supporter and one-time adviser, said if Trump is elected president, he would “certainly serve”.
