Klan Rally Stabbing: 5 KKKers Freed, Acted in ‘Self-Defense’

Three people were stabbed Saturday, one critically, after a small group of Ku Klux Klan members clashed with a larger gathering of counter-protesters, police said. Five KKK members who were arrested as part of the brawl were released from jail after a video showed they were acting in self-defense, Anaheim police said Sunday. Police say only one was from Anaheim.

The violence broke out Saturday afternoon at Pearson Park, when police said 10 to 20 counter-protesters immediately rushed and attacked the KKK members who were there to stage an anti-immigration rally.

Breitbart News was also able to obtain exclusive footage of the terrifying scene, which shows one of the Klansmen prodding a flag pole into the torso of a counter-protester in an apparent act of self-defense. Levin spoke with Gary and Shannon on KFI Los Angles about the incident. Levin said he pushed the klan leader away as the violence continued and a protester was stabbed. A massive Klan rally in Anaheim City Park in July 1924 “frightened many Anaheimers and helped give rise to an organized crusade to destroy the Klan”, according to Lay. “Even still, the case will be presented to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for review and it will make the final determination regarding whether criminal charges will be filed”.

The AP reports that when six Klansmen (including Donner) arrived at the pre-advertised site of the rally, a park about three miles from Disneyland, they were greeted by as many as 30 counter-protesters.

“We had individuals who specifically came there to commit acts of violence, and there is nothing to do to stop that”, he said of the violent confrontation captured on video.

The police department is facing scrutiny for its response after three people were stabbed and several others were injured in the melee Saturday in Pearson Park.

The two other stabbing victims were in stable condition, police said.

He told ICTMN, “With the reactive climate and young people who have been killed and actually murdered by police-it’s not a good time for the KKK to parade around”.

In an interview Monday with The Associated Press, Will Quigg says he contacted the Anaheim Police Department but that his requests for a police presence were denied. All of the victims are reportedly in stable condition.

Levin added that he believed there should have been a police presence from the beginning and is angry that it took them so long to appear.

“We’re a far cry from those bad times and the Klan is really an anachronism”, Levin said.

Randy Omar McCauley Felder, 25, of Lakewood, who was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, with bail set at $25,000.

Given the nature of the KKK and its members – you would think that a group infamous throughout history for promoting white pride, terrorizing minorities, and other marginalized groups would undoubtedly be the ignition for the fight.
