Arsene Wenger has labelled Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp as a “great manager” ahead of their first duel as Premier League bosses on Wednesday night. They’re in a good moment.

Busy time for Klopp, as he’s closing loan deals and praising Wenger. If we are good, then it could fit for this game of course.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool: “Arsenal, together with City, are the two best teams at this moment in the Premier League”.

But the 48-year-old said his focus remained on development, not results, in his first season in charge.

“The 5-1 they didn’t start quite well and it was only during the game they realised how strong we were and that we could break any team”.

Lucas Leiva may have to be deployed as a makeshift centre-back if Toure (cramp), Sakho (knee) or Caulker (registration) are unavailable.

Last season only two players moved clubs for fees over £25m, with Wilfried Bony joining Manchester City for £28m and Juan Cuadrado moving to Chelsea for £26m.

He continued: “He’s a high-quality manager, one of the best in the world for sure”.

“He did that with so many players – [George] Weah…”

The Liverpool manager says his injury-hit side can defeat the Premier League leaders and will have “a solution” for today’s match when, unlike during Friday’s FA Cup tie at Exeter City, he will have a recognisable team available.

His efforts to stop that Shaqiri cross were further proof of his willingness to fight for the cause, Toure says. “The defenders here are very tough but I like that”. It’s something I have brought to football! Here’s all the info you need about the ground.

“That’s why you play for the best club”.

“But I think he done very well in the job and he has an opportunity to integrate a big club”.

“I had to stay on”.

Arsenal have created 254 goalscoring chances in the top flight this season, an average of over 12 a game, and managed to craft 311 shots in their games. I think: ‘Let’s recover for three days, on the fourth and fifth days train, sixth play again and take the next step.’ But that’s a dream world. It is a good opportunity for him and I hope he will be successful there.

“It’s a club I’ve watched for many years”, he said.
