Klopp Does U-Turn Over Europa League Invite

Chelsea, for their part, are aiming to cement ninth place in the league after a pretty subdued season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits he was “not too smart” inviting tens of thousands of fans to enjoy their Europa League final in Basle.

“Whether I’m involved or not, I’m hoping we’ll put on another good performance and win the trophy”. [Adam] Lallana, Emre [Can], Dejan [Lovren], blah, blah, blah, all these guys.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set to restore Daniel Sturridge to his starting line-up and several of his other big guns against Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday. We don’t have to make a decision. Then we’ll do the same for Basel. We will be 100% ready for this game.

“If you can not be there, stay at home or come to Liverpool, watch the game with your friends and let’s have a party afterwards”.

Klopp added: “When I first came here we had a few problems at home”. It wasn’t too cool. We created some stability. That helps always in life and in football.

Now Klopp has admitted that it’s vital that we use home form as a platform for success. “It’s the first step in the right direction”. The Europa League is now our only chance of going to the Champions League and the Europa League is partly the reason we have 58 points.

While Sevilla are certain to finish seventh in La Liga, Liverpool can end up as high as fifth in the Premier League table.

But yesterday, he got serious as he said he was wrong to do that.

“I would prefer that it’s Thursday next week. It was a good day and I was just pleased to help the team win”, he went on. That would be the only situation better than sitting here talking about these three games. I have to take back the invitation to Basel.

“I want to be, in the future, really consistent in all the games”.

Klopp has one eye already on next season and plans are well under way for that but he brushed aside suggestions he would be having a clear-out in the summer to prepare for it. We can not do this.

“With Henderson, it’s only nine days until the final so it’s not sure that he will play our game, because it’s a short time”.

Henderson picked up a knee injury against Dortmund a month ago.

“With Hendo, there is really good news”. “With his injury we had to rest him for a long time, we couldn’t really do a lot”.

“We did what was necessary”.
