Mane has netted twice in four games for the Reds and put in a brilliant performance in their 4-1 win over Leicester on Saturday.

Liverpool’s 2-1 win victory over Chelsea on Friday night added to their excellent form against England’s top-five clubs since Jurgen Klopp arrived at the club nearly a year ago.

On becoming an integral player for the Reds, he said, ” I know what he wants from a player.

“I was really happy when we signed him and I heard the deal was done”.

“I started out as a defender”, he added. To dominate our opponent. We need this player there in the centre who we can play with and if there’s a ball behind the line sometimes, so that we can go there and can push up in the last line. “We played like this last time here and we had only been together three weeks or something”.

“I’m really demanding to be honest, and I really want a lot of them”.

And he is keen to take the next step in his career under the 49-year-old, who played a key role in the development of stars such as Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Marco Reus at German club Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp, grinning from ear-to-ear after watching his team defeat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge, could be seen passionately embracing his players after hearing the final whistle.

“He would have been my choice, but I think Sam was the best England candidate out there”.

“I’ve always maintained that scoring goals is something I have to improve”, Coutinho told the Liverpool Echo.

Gerrard left Merseyside for California at the end of the 2014-15 season to play for LA Galaxy, who now sit second in the MLS western conference, four points behind FC Dallas. “I’ve not spoken to him this week but I’m looking forward to playing against him”.
