Klopp: Sturridge will play
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that Daniel Sturridge will get plenty of chances to play this season despite missing out against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s side controlled most of the match and deserved to take the lead when James Milner converted from the penalty spot – but Spurs eventually burst into life with half an hour remaining.

Spurs were in danger of being over-run as the visitors created a series of chances, but they struck back through Danny Rose in the second half and finished the stronger team. We did it really good, we were flexible in offence, defending and played good football.
If Emre Can, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi can overcome fitness concerns, Klopp could feasibly start with seven of the players who took to the field in his first match. “I think if we went 2-0 up it’s a different result”.
Tottenham have not beaten Liverpool in almost four years and manager Pochettino is hoping his team can break that trend in this kick-off. Lamela flicked on Eriksen’s cross from the right and Rose, arriving unmarked, had time to set himself and shoot low past Mignolet’s near post to earn Spurs a share of the spoils.
One of the main problems Liverpool still have is to stabilize their defense and as mentioned above there are question marks to their left back, center backs and the always in-the-spotlight-keeper, Simon Mignolet. Michel Vorm saved them a few times. “We played a very good away game against a very strong side”. “It’s a good team so hopefully we’ll choose different lineups for different games”. We showed we can be good.
“We have to accept it”.
They were fortunate too, especially when the referee Robert Madley erroneously disallowed Sadio Mane’s second-half goal for offside after a great counter-attacking move on 55 minutes. It was a wonderful goal, brilliant play.
“I am a Liverpool player and what the manager asks me to do I will do”. Kyle Walker had a desperate 25 minutes of misjudgements and lost tackles until he was withdrawn, apparently unwell, and we wait to see whether he is included in Sam Allardyce’s first England squad today.
Spurs finally drew level in the 72nd minute through Rose who smashed in a loose ball. “We had to change a bit our plan and started to play with two strikers”, he said.

“I’ve played a lot on the left in my career and would rather play left-back than right-back so that does not affect me”, he added.
