Klopp wants ‘angry’ Liverpool against Hull

It was job done, of course, yet some were wondering if Liverpool were clinical enough. You have more time and success. Whilst Klopp will no doubt dish out whatever advice he feels appropriate once he has his players safely back behind the Melwood walls, out in public it’s as it ever was at the club, praise at levels that won’t go to a player’s head, criticism saved for private. Yes, a lot. Is it important tonight?

‘All the big teams want to go through – you could see that in the line ups. So, it was good. Aside from Premier League competition, they simply don’t have anything else to concern themselves with.

While all eyes will be on the attacking section of the team as they seek to break down a determined Hull defence, it’ll be fascinating to see whether Klopp opts for Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius between the sticks when the Tigers come to town. Will Klopp throw Karius in on Saturday? We can use him, that’s good.

Rovers are second-from-bottom after a similarly slow start under Owen Coyle, however they head into the match with a bit of momentum following their 4-2 victory over Rotherham last weekend, which was the club’s first win of the season.

The Brazilian duo dissected the Championship team in a commanding second-half display illuminated by fine goals from Coutinho and Divock Origi, after Ragnar Klavan had given the visitors a first-half lead.

Liverpool’s squad is by no means the finished product but there’s plenty of potential and in just five games, Klopp has already demonstrated his side’s ability to improve and adapt his coaching style.

Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum should both be available for this match after Klopp held out the duo Wednesday as a precaution. Principally, it allows them to focus all of their top resources on the league, and competitions like the EFL Cup.

“Daniel made something like a final test yesterday so has had three days without training but should be in training today”, Klopp said. I would say yes.

“We have confidence. We have a very strong squad and if you play for Liverpool you the target always has to be to get silverware but we have to show from game to game and we will see at the end of the season”. If you miss, it’s still positive because you created a chance against Chelsea.

“The most important [thing] is that the more players I have and the more hard the choices for me, the better it is for Liverpool”. I would say ‘yes, ‘ so let’s try it.

Can’s passing was criticised and he did look like he needs a bit of time to get back into the general rhythm of things.

“Ovie made his [debut], so that was nice”.

To hand him his debut away to Chelsea would’ve been doing him no favors, but at home to Hull City?
