Klopp warns Liverpool to not get carried away after Barcelona rout
It was an unhappy return to Mainz for Klopp, who played for the German club for 11 years, then took over as coach in 2001, steering them to the Bundesliga before taking charge of Borussia Dortmund in 2008, before joining Liverpool last year.

The remainder of the goals were scored in the second half although Barcelona also had numerous chances of their own in an open, expansive and entertaining game of football. “If it’s hard – and there will be some hard moments this season – we have to trust our style of play, our philosophy and all of the things we usually do”. We are ambitious, we want to win as many games as possible, then we will see at the end.
Klopp says he will no longer answer any questions directly from The S*n reporters, for an indefinite period, as Liverpool prepare to start their Premier League campaign at Arsenal on Sunday.
Barca play Sampdoria at the Camp Nou in their final pre-season friendly on Wednesday and face Sevilla in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup on August 14.
“After the match (I said) nothing, at half time.it was not how it should be”.
“You saw all those different parts against Barcelona but I saw them all in his first couple of sessions”.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the Dutch global stated: “If you play for Liverpool expectations will always be there”.
“The line-up was a compromise, changing players and we flew a few players in this morning”. Klopp has a lot of options at striker, including Origi, who came on for the second half and scored within three minutes, and Danny Ings, working his way back to fitness and a late substitute.
Arsenal will be a tough task for Klopp’s men and it will be a race against time for a number of his important players if they are to start the season well.
Liverpool won’t have the quality in depth that some of the other clubs have, but will go far if the Jurgen Klopp finds a plan that gets the most out of his players.
“I don’t talk with The S*n anymore”, Klopp, told the reporter in the post-match press briefing.

“We had a good run around, nothing more”. We have to make sure we do that also against Arsenal.
