Kneeling during National Anthem

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Victor Oladipo was asked by Complex Sports whether National Basketball Association players are paying attention to Colin Kaepernick’s protest of racial oppression and inequality in the United States – and whether those protests would transfer to the National Basketball Association. The final line of the song is as follows: “land of the free, and home of the fearless”.

Kaepernick has not stood for the national anthem since giving this statement to the media in the preseason, Hollywood Life noted.

“When there’s significant change and I feel like [the American] flag represents what it’s supposed to represent, [and that] this country is representing people the way that it’s supposed to, I’ll stand”, Kaepernick said on August 28.

Speaking to Complex Sports, the former first-round draft pick said we will “definitely” see a “few guys” in the league not stand during “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the game. The main issue that I have with this entire situation is mostly directed towards those who are only focusing on Kaepernick’s action to sit or kneel and not the message or cause of his action.

“All this time, I’ve been posting on Facebook: Respect our flag, respect our national anthem”. So, when I took to the airwaves for my weekly radio show Vantage Point on WBAI, 99.5 FM on the Pacifica Network in NY. If Kaepernick is so miserable in the U.S., he can go to a country where he thinks life is better.

The stars and stripes themselves do not make our country so special. The Sunnyvale, California, resident says that to immigrants, the flag is a beloved symbol of this country. It represents the great United States of America.

Long expressed admiration for the players who are exercising their First Amendment rights to highlight systemic racism in the USA – even if he has decided not to join their on-field protest.

Cops are pigs, cops are pigs. They put on a uniform every day just like Kaepernick does.

There is clearly a divide between NFL players and football fans across the nation on Kaepernick’s decision to kneel during the National Anthem, as many support his stance but not his choice of method. The country that service men and women fight for.

Oladipo is probably right as the National Basketball Association is one of the most free-thinking professional sport leagues in the country.
