Then UCLA’s first matchup against someone not wearing a blue-and-gold Adidas jersey didn’t go as expected. Under coach Jim Mora, the Bruins are more conservative on defense. He’s a ferocious hitter and he can cover a lot of ground.

“We feel like we beat ourselves last week”, running back Bolu Olorunfunmi said.
The UNLV offense actually had a surprisingly not horrific year last season considering their complete ineptness in the UCLA game. If they don’t, it may be time to start ringing the first real alarm bells of the year. In his very first career start, Malik Hooker was a huge part to OSU’s defensive performance against Bowling Green with 4 tackles and a pair of interceptions that included one of the acrobatic variety. Jeremiah spoke with several National Football League executives over the weekend who are intrigued with the senior, and Jeremiah was impressed with his play in reviewing film of the UCLA game.
Tight end Caleb Wilson, a transfer from Southern California, will see more playing time after impressing in training camp. They gave up five sacks and made Josh Rosen’s life very hard.
“Sometimes you can trump anything good or bad that happened in the play by making a good decision, and I didn’t”, Rosen said this week.
“You’ve got to put pressure on him”.
Biggest concern from the defense that you saw in Week 1? He said his players had displayed an increased sense of urgency and was eager to find out if they could apply lessons from the opener against UNLV.
With a chance to get the team back on track, Rosen is ready to move on in front of his hometown crowd.
“Don’t take any of these games lightly”, Sumlin told the Texas A&M’s official website. We had a school in our conference go to overtime with a I-AA school (in UNR’s 30-27 win over Cal Poly).
“He’s a playmaker out there”, redshirt senior safety Randall Goforth said. They’ll need to focus on stopping the run this week if they want to win. Last season, Rosen amassed an impressive 3,669 yards with 23 touchdown passes.
UNLV, which failed to convert a fake field goal on its opening drive, trailed 10-0 late in the first half when backup quarterback Kurt Palandech threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown. He took 12 carries for 96 yards and a touchdown.
“You mean the drop?”
The 19-year-old Rosen – who posed for a photo last year while sitting with a woman in an inflatable hot tub in his dorm room – brought some pressure on himself at Texas A&M after saying before the game that he wasn’t concerned about the crowd noise because “after about 50,000 people it all sounds the same”.

UNLV wasn’t a very good return team previous year, with their top punt returner averaging fewer than 5 yards per return and their main kick returner averaging just over 20 yards per return. Being fundamentally sound in tackling will be important against the 6-foot-2, 245-pound Stanton. This week these guys are bigger, stronger, more talented, but they’re still guys at the end of the day.
