Know Samsung Pay: New mobile payment solution

Bookings are open for pre-orders in the US though when the Canadians could actually order was not yet clear. [Watch video here.] Yet despite the jump in screen size, a redesign has made the new Note slimmer and lighter with a curved edge to make it easier to hold. Samsung has announced two new large high-end Android handsets: the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5. There are several really nice, premium phones that cost about half as much as Samsung’s newest phones.

It’s worth noting that Samsung hasn’t yet confirmed official prices for the smartphone, so this could change ahead of its release. The screen real estate adjusts when the phone senses the keyboard is on and, when not in use, the keyboard attachment can me slotted onto the back of the phone.

Despite the early skepticism, the Note has proved popular. One of these companies is Samsung, with its creatively named Samsung Pay.

Samsung is trying to become a luxury brand, but it’s failing at it, and if these Galaxy Note 5 images are indeed real, people predict a downward spiral for the company. Exactly how the model will be structured is still an open question, but Samsung Pay is about more than payments – it’s about building a new commerce ecosystem. To switch between cards, users simply have to swipe right or left until they reach the card of their choosing. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be available in the UK in September but the Galaxy Note 5, an update to the Note range, will only be available to North American and selected Asian markets.

It is first being introduced in South Korea, moving on to the US at the end of September and eventually the UK and Spain although there are no specific dates mentioned in relation to this move European yet.

Unlike Apple Pay, Samsung’s solution also contains magnetic secure transmission (MST) technology, which allows users to pay by simply holding their phone to any payment terminal with a magnetic strip reader for credit cards.
