Knoxville Planned Parenthood holds vigil for victims of violence
The group in Syracuse was also speaking out against recent Senate efforts to repeal Obamacare and cut federal funding to Planned Parenthood. “They don’t believe in freedom, they don’t believe in the constitution and they want to take away our freedom…We’re supposed to live in a free society and you’re going to have a person gun down a women’s’ health care clinic, that’s pathetic”, he said.

The flags were lowered after the Colorado Springs shooting and were still lowered when Hickenlooper announced Thursday they would remain lowered for the victims of the shootings in San Bernadino, Calif.
The event focused on bringing together the community – providing a chance for people to honor the victims of the tragedy and to show support for Planned Parenthood.
Supporters of Planned Parenthood held a vigil outside of the office in Syracuse on Saturday morning, calling for stable access to health services for women.
The Gazette of Colorado Springs reports that friends and family as well as strangers, including police officers, district attorney Dan May and a woman who said she was a Planned Parenthood patient, paid their respects to Stewart during a visitation there on Thursday night. She also met with those workers privately after the event to thank them again.
Garrett Swasey, a University of Colorado Colorado Springs police officer, was shot after rushing to the campus to help. Some spent the attack hiding inside the clinic but many details, including a timeline of the attack, have not been released by police.
“In remembrance of Ke’Arre Stewart, a 29 year old Iraq War veteran and father of two…we have to say that enough is enough”, said Tory Mills with Planned Parenthood.

“We will not accept this as normal”, she said to applause.
