Although she easily out-paced the field, the American felt she could have been even better. “I just haven’t really been able to put it together, so it’s nice to see some results today”.

Lee has a one-stroke lead over Korean compatriot Kim Hyo-Joo following 54 holes at the Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, Ontario, on Saturday. “I don’t know about prior”.

“I played awesome today”, Henderson said, “and it was a lot of fun for me”.

“I’m just really thrilled”, said Tanguay, who splits her time between the LPGA and Symetra Tours. “My coach is here”. “I just thank everybody for coming out”. “It’s very important. I mean that’s probably why I felt the nerves more this week than any other week really”.

After completing her round she moved to the practice green by the clubhouse to rehydrate as South Korea’s Mi Hyang Lee, Australia’s Minjee Lee and world No. 2 Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand finished their rounds.

She reeled off seven birdies – and had only one bogey – to tame the demanding Whistle Bear Golf Club layout at Cambridge, Ontario. “Hope tomorrow is better”, Choi said.

“It’s been feeling like my golf game has been good all year”, said Holmqvist, who has made just three cuts this season.

Hamilton’s Alena Sharp was the low Canadian at 9 under, finishing in a tie for 26th. All three made the 1-under cut.

“Pretty good. Pretty good”, said Choi.

“The wind really picked up on the back nine, it was kind of hard”, the Canadian teen told reporters.

“Everything is good and I think my chips have been better the last two days”. Amateur Maddie Szeryk of London, Ont., was 1 over, Vivian Tsui of Markham, Ont., was at 2 over, Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, B.C., and Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Ont., shot 3 over.

Henderson appeared headed to low Canadian honours sitting at 8-under through 16 holes, but she three-putted 17 for bogey and then hit her tee-shot on 18 into the trees lining the fairway.

Kongkraphan got off to a hot start birding her first three holes of the day picking up three additional birdies on the final nine en route to her bogey-free round.
