“I was quite nervous this morning”.
“Once she got over the initial shock and disappointment”, Luark said of the ANA, “she kind of realized, ‘I’m a great player and I’m going be in contention again and I just have to make sure I learn from what just happened and control my emotions so it doesn’t happen again.’ Deep down, she really knows how talented she is”. “This is a very, very special feeling. And I’m really going to enjoy Hall of Fame”.
As the three-time defending champion of the event, Park is trying become the first woman to win a major in four straight years. She has won seven major titles and has 17 LPGA Tour victories.
“It usually gets a little more exhausted later in the day”, Park said of her injured thumb. Hall of Famers Annika Sorenstam, Se Ri Pak, Juli Inkster and Karrie Webb were among the crowd greeting Park.
“I have been dreaming of myself being in the Hall of Fame so many times”.
They have taught me how to be happy before I hit the shot.
“It’s easier to come from behind than be the leader”, said Lincicome. (72), Bart Bryant (72) and Brandt Jobe (74) were tied for third at 2 over. “She took the ball from the cup, gave it a kiss, and then walked off the green with a grin and a wave”. Andrew Landry (Arkansas Razorbacks) also had an even-par 70 and is 1 over.
“It was a pretty good day today”.
Canadian World Number Four Brooke Henderson had the flawless day on the course in the first round of the Women’s PGA Championship in Seattle including making an ace at the par-3 13. And ended up being the auto hole. “Hit a couple of bad drives”. Prior to this week’s event, Park had withdrawn from three out of her nine tournaments this year, with no wins and just two top-10 finishes.
Two are tied at two under par after shooting rounds of 69 on Thursday: In-Kyung Kim and Christina Kim.
“This place has absolutely drained me”.
Unlike the front nine, which included two bogeys, Ko recorded eight pars and a birdie before heading into the clubhouse (and the weekend) with a head of steam. No one won two in a row at a younger age than her. If she’s a victor on Sunday, no one will have won three LPGA majors – even if there are five now – in successive fashion sooner than she will have.
Like parents do, her father, Gun Gyu, sensed his daughter wasn’t quite herself Thursday morning.
Stacy Lewis shot a 73.
The 57-year-old Blake had five birdies and three bogeys on the A.W. Tillinghast-designed Wissahickon Course.

“The double bogey on the 16th made a big difference”.
