Ko makes up ground in Evian Championship

In Gee Chun of Korea shot a six-under par 65 at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France, to maintain her lead through three rounds of the Evian Championship in pursuit of winning the year’s final major wire-to-wire.

Women’s PGA champion Brooke Henderson of Canada ended the day one shot ahead of Ko at 2-under. But she does not dwell too much on it.

Since then, the South-Korean born New Zealander has picked up five more titles, including a second major at the ANA Inspiration in April.

World No.1 Lydia Ko was Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) delighted to take a walk down memory lane on her return to the scene of her first major victory, the Evian Championship.

Dark clouds and thunderstorms could not cast a shadow on In-Gee Chun’s bid to become rookie of the year on the leading women’s golf tour.

There has been no stopping her, and a year ago she became the youngest woman or man to be ranked No. 1.

There is a major drop off in terms of the sports betting odds following Ko and Jutanugarn at the top of the board but there are some excellent value matchups to bet in terms of the head-to-head ranks.

She also wants a second major.

The 38-year-old Harvey, from Greensboro, North Carolina, won the 2014 title.

U.S. Open victor Brittany Lang had a nightmare with two double bogeys and three bogeys in a 5-over 76.

Ko revealed herself to the golfing world at the Evian in 2013, when she finished second as a 16-year-old amateur. Kim birdied five of the last six holes and sits in fifth place, while Shadoff recorded seven birdies and no bogeys to move just outside the top 10. “So, no driver this week”.

Park remains second after carding 67, while Olympic bronze medallist Feng is now six off the lead following her 69.

She was stunned by her reception when she returned to China.

“With how I feel about my shot, I have no problem”, said Park. “But no, obviously I don’t really pay attention to everything that’s going around”.

“I think it’s cool that we three young ones are up there in the rankings”. But I said “President, you’re so handsome”. “It’s a tough course with narrow fairways, but I drove it well”. “But the rain cleared and I played really well”. “So it’s nothing bad”. “The greens are getting softer this year”.

Park says she is familiar with Chun’s game as the two have been competing against each other since their school days.

Pettersen had a hard day, joining Ariya and American Lexi Thompson, last year’s runner-up, at 2 over.
