Kobe Bryant bows out

Bryant has played for the Lakers for the whole of his 20-year career, and his final appearance caused a Twitter meltdown.

Thankfully, someone on eBay had the good sense to collect the air from Bryant’s final game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, put it in a sandwich bag, and sell it on eBay.

Los Angeles Lakers will host the Utah Jazz at the Staples Center in Bryant’s final professional game next Wednesday.

With his last display, he showed the world once again of all the intangibles that made him such a rare, unsafe and dominant player for so long.

TMZ reported that TNT has officially reached out to the Black Mamba to join their panelists that include Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson and Shaq.

Bryant was in total #heroball mode, going 22-50 from the floor (making 6 3-pointers on 21 attempts).

Andy Garcia, a 16-year-old sophomore at Southwest, said “I felt sad about it because I wasn’t the biggest fan, but as soon as I heard the news, I just started watching every game I could to appreciate his ball-playing skills”. Bryant ranks third on the National Basketball Association all-time scoring list and holds Lakers’ franchise records for points, games, minutes, field goals, three-point field goals, free throws and steals.

They weren’t disappointed. Bryant scored 23 points during that quarter, including 17 straight for the Lakers starting at the 5:41 mark. “It’s insane, absolutely crazy to be standing here on the same court with you guys, with my teammates behind me”.

Thank you, Kobe, and flash that ring everywhere you go! It’s hard to believe it happened this way; I’m still in shock about it.

“I’m more proud, not about the championships but about the down years because we didn’t run, we played through all that stuff, we got our championships and we did it the right way. At the end, whatever National Basketball Association fans thought of Kobe, he had been a constant in their lives for 20 years, the last star link to [Michael] Jordan’s 1990s heyday”.
