Kobe Bryant Doesn’t Envision Himself Playing Overseas Next Year
Kobe Bryant will not play in the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday due to a sore shoulder.

Kevin Durant had 22 points and eight rebounds, Enes Kanter added 19 points and 14 rebounds, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 118-78, on Saturday for their eighth straight home victory.
Los Angeles coach Byron Scott said the Lakers looked “scared” and “intimidated” against Oklahoma City.
“They (the Rockets) have got a bunch of players over there that like to compete”, said Bryant, who had Lakers fans roaring and on their feet after he drove the lane for a dunk – his first of the season – over forward Clint Capela in the third quarter.
“He’s a fantastic player”, Lakers guard Kobe Bryant said on Monday in an NBA-sanctioned conference call with global media.
The team has sold out all nine of its Staples Center games so far, a trend expected to continue after experiencing nine non-sellouts each of the last two seasons. I haven’t even talked to him about it, so I don’t even know when it occurred.
“Hey man, you’ve got to pay my tech on that one”, Russell told Bryant, via ESPN.
Kobe Bryant may not have made the difference.
Stephen Curry scored 26 points and Draymond Green fueled a key fourth-quarter run that helped the Golden State Warriors avenged their only loss of the season by beating the visiting Milwaukee Bucks, 121-112, Friday night.
“I would have loved to have played overseas but it’s not going to happen”, Bryant re-affirmed. “For me, the most important thing and lovely thing is how does your legacy impact the generation of players to come and the generation of players that are now playing”.
Bryant says the only thing Lakers fans care about is that the players have an expectation to win the National Basketball Association title.
“He did OK. I have to look at the tape before I can really evaluate it”, said Scott, who said Brown will play more later on in the season.
Rather, he is more focused on the long lasting effect he has left on the game he loves.
But Bryant’s departure will allow the Lakers to split between the past and the future, with young prospects Julius Randle, D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson taking on leading roles rather than deferring to their superstar teammate.
“I’m sure they are on top of it and I’m sure they will get the sport back where we all want it to be”, Bryant said.
“Five games is obviously a small sample”, he said.

Playing in his 20th season, Bryant, 37, pointed out that he had “pretty heavy-duty” surgery on that same shoulder after tearing his right rotator cuff in late January during a dunk against the New Orleans Pelicans.
