Kobe Bryant (left leg) to miss Saturday exhibition vs. Warriors
The Los Angeles Lakers are offiically listing Kobe Bryant as doubtful for their game against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, reports Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times. Bryant, who suffered the injury while driving to the rim against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, has played in all five of the Lakers’ preseason games (they’re 1-4, with three more preseason games in all). Bryant should be ready for the start of the regular season barring any setbacks.

“It’s definitely my responsibility to step out there and play”, he said in the first days of training camp in Hawaii. Much of that stemmed from coach Byron Scott’s old-school philosophy to the game and a few critics thing Scott isn’t on board with the new way of thinking in the National Basketball Association.
But after these past few painful seasons that were wrought with serious Bryant injuries, this latest setback is most certainly not that.
Scott said his top priority is getting Bryant through the season healthy, and there is no reason to ask him to play through bumps and bruises before the regular season has begun. “I think he’ll be a benefit to our players, especially our young guys, and I look forward to working with him as a member of our staff”.

Lakers Coach Bryan Scott said Bryant got treatment at the team’s practice facility Friday but wasn’t able to practice.
