Kobe Bryant targets Olympic gold before retirement
Bryant’s view on it is that you just have to chalk that one up to the game and take a loss. Only 90 minutes before tipoff, Lakers rookie forward Anthony Brown learned he would start in place of Bryant and defend Durant.

Kobe Bryant says he’s not pushing to play on the US Olympic team in Rio, but the retiring Los Angeles Lakers guard said Monday it would make a “beautiful” ending to his 20-year career.
Oklahoma City has won seven of the past eight meetings, and Durant has averaged 33.8 points in his last nine against the Lakers.
“He kind of shocked me when he told me”, said Lakers coach Byron Scott, Bryant’s teammate during the 1996-97 season. “You look flat-out scared”, Scott said. This just feels like another lost season for so many players on this team, while the franchise keeps everything on hold just so one player can get one last shot at glory, while the others are starving for a coach who can actually teach them something. “Come out ready and focus on what we need to focus on and do our job”. The Lakers do make another trip to OKC in April, but this is a major bummer for those who bought tickets hoping to see an National Basketball Association legend in person.
“I try to look at my legacy and how it impacts the future of the game”, Bryant said on a conference call with global media on Monday(Tuesday NZT). Butler was 4 of 11 for 12 points a night after scoring 43, while Rose played 20 minutes and had six points on 3-of-10 shooting.
But the Lakers play no defense, despite the claims of their head coach to know a thing or two about the subject. On Nov. 29, when he announced his plans to retire after the season, Bryant declared he wanted to play in every game the rest of the season, which he had achieved until Saturday. The Thunder wore their alternate sleeved jerseys.
Bryant is the NBA’s highest-paid player this season with a $25 million salary bestowed on him by grateful Lakers owner Jim Buss despite his recent injury problems.
Bryant did show off a little youth Thursday, throwing down his first dunk of the season in a 107-87 loss to Houston.
“I’m sure it didn’t help”, Bryant said.
The Lakers are off until Tuesday, when they visit the Denver Nuggets.
And as hard as it is for fans to remain patient, it’s even more difficult for the players.
Unfortunately, the Houston-LA section begins by going through various nonsense things Reggie Miller said during the game.
Garnett, now in his 21st season is the league’s longest tenured player who was drafted in the 1995 class.

As many people noted after Kobe named those five players, Shaquille O’Neal is absent from that list.
