Kobe Bryant to quit basketball

The Black Mamba has announced that he will retire after the 2015-2016 season. But not before he unleashes his inner Wordsworth.

Michael Jordan, the player that Kobe always looked up to and is most commonly compared to, famously quit basketball in 1993 after a “three-peat” in the NBA, but was back on the hardwood for the start of the 1996 season. “And then everybody (on the Blazers bench) was laughing like, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ I didn’t say anything”. A love so deep I gave you my all – From my mind & body To my spirit & soul. I mean there’s usually a few clippings that go a bit overboard, but I don’t think any knowledgeable media type would say the majority was unfair. I see the beauty in not being able to blow past defenders anymore.

“Hell yeah I’m sensitive about everything involving it”, he said. Pushed me to be better more than any player I’ve faced. I did everything for YOU Because that’s what you do When someone makes you feel as Alive as you’ve made me feel. I’ve been disappointed this year because you guys (media) treated him like shit.

Bryant, limited by injuries to six games two seasons ago and 35 last season, announced on Sunday “this season is all I have left to give”. I know you gotta report the games, but you’re going too in-depth about how bad he is. Jordan’s advice to Kobe was to enjoy it, good and bad, for the final moments of his National Basketball Association journey. After five championships in 20 seasons, he has accomplished everything possible in his career and will go down as one of the greatest to ever play this game.

As well as holding an 81-point performance – second highest points scored in a single National Basketball Association game – behind Wilt Chamberlain, Bryant entered the National Basketball Association history as the NBA’s all-time scoring list, behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone.

If Bryant remains healthy for the rest of the season, his last game with the Lakers in Los Angeles is set to be on April 13 against the Utah Jazz.
