Koeman: Romelu Lukaku has withdrawn transfer request

West Brom captain Darren Fletcher hailed Rondon’s performance against Palace.

“Salo was fantastic”, Fletcher said.

“The most important thing is that Jonny is with us and we want him to stay because he’s an outstanding player”, he said.

“I’m more confident things might drop this week than I was last week”.

The club heads into this fixture a bit lighter after defender James Chester was sold to Aston Villa.

Bolasie did feature for Palace in their Premier League opener on Saturday as he appeared as a second half substitute in the 1-0 loss at home to West Brom. “He will give strength to the team and I’m very pleased to have Yannick as part of what we are trying to build here at Everton”. We had the best chances.

“I have two plans – one is with Lukaku and one without him”, the Dutchman told the print media ahead of tomorrow’s trip to West Bromwich Albion where the Belgian is expected to make his first appearance of the season.

He said that it will be “very difficult” for the two players to be part of the team this season and added that if Niasse “likes to play football, then he needs to leave Everton”.

“Ashley Williams is another decision we need to make”.

Koeman was quoted in a column in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf this morning that Lukaku had informed him on Friday of his decision not to pursue a move away from Goodison during the transfer window, despite constant links with former club Chelsea.

“We always look at players (that will make us) have a stronger squad. That’s one of our jobs to do – to improve the team”, Koeman remarked.

‘But if you go to a team where you have more of the ball, some players will have 50 touches when you’ve been averaging 25, it’s hard. Maybe that’s why we’re doing our transfers a little bit late. We have Joel [Robles], Maarten [Stekelenburg] and a young goalkeeper.
