The department store chain announced on Wednesday it is adding more than 69,000 associates to “support seasonal business” in its stores and on its website. Kohl’s also plans to hire about 9,500 season workers at distribution and e-commerce fulfillment centers throughout the country along with another 660 seasonal credit operations personnel.
Kohl’s customers can purchase merchandise online and pick it up in stores. UPS planned to hire the same number of seasonal workers as last year.
Hiring started in September and the retailer expects to fill most jobs by mid-November.
Associates working at distribution and e-commerce fulfillment centers help ensure products get to retail stores and into the hands of Kohls.com customers. Store hiring is up about 2 percent and hiring at its distribution centers and credit operations also have increased from last year, she said.
Hiring levels at locations vary depending on the needs of each store and facility.
