Kojima Thanks Fans and Bids Farewell in Metal Gear Solid Debriefing Video

Hideo Kojima and Konami have released a brief documentary outlining the legendary series and tackling the difficulties in creating the last entry, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

It’s not entirely clear why Konami is clutching the game files so tightly. The two video game consoles were comparable in the testing and “Metal Gear Solid 5” Xbox One resolution was able to withstand competition from Sony, said Digital Foundry, a technical analyst.

Many games released over the past several years have come with minimal files and links to downloadable files online.

As for what evidence Edwards is using is to back up his audacious claims, he points to what kind of experience the game can offer in terms of its depth and scope. Kojima revolutionized horror with the PlayStation 4 exclusive Silent Hills playable teaser (or “P.T.” for short), leaving many fans to wonder what might have been had Kojima been allowed to finish working on the game. Similar to how microtransactions-driven games go, these Mother Base coins can be earned via completed missions. Unfortunately, the application does not feature PC support yet, so it will only be useful for those who play Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on consoles. Additionally, Gaming Bolt suggested that Kojima also wanted the cycle of revenge “to be more than something you strive for as you play the game”.

The Washington Post picked up on designer Hideo Kojima’s previous comments that Metal Gear Solid was his “biggest failure”. Konami lists the requirements for Phantom Pain as needing 28GB of storage space, a mercifully small installation compared to some other recent titles, with Witcher 3 taking up about 40GB, and GTA V topping 60.
