Kolo Toure can inspire young Celtic players, insists Chris Davies

Toure could set for another reunion, with Celtic reportedly attempting to buy his former City team-mate Scott Sinclair from Aston Villa: “I haven’t spoken to him but he’s a really good player”, said Toure, who has signed a one-year contract.

“I brought Kolo into Liverpool to add that bit of experience and help to the centre-halves there at the time”, Rodgers told the club’s official website.

He also won the title with Manchester City and almost made it a treble with Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers and he made it clear he had come to Parkhead to achieve more success.

He also started eight matches in out run to the final of last season’s Europa League.

“I’m probably more looking towards the weekend for some game time in the friendly against Barcelona and then assess where he is at before the following week”.

After making him an early recruit in his Parkhead reign, Rodgers predicted Toure would thrive in Scotland and be a big asset to Celtic.

“I haven’t spoken to him but he is a really good player – a top professional”, said Toure of the 27-year-old. It will be nice for Scotty to have someone behind him who has that real big-game experience.

“With a lot of young players in our squad, he can really help them. Kolo can do very well for us”. I’ve come to one of the biggest clubs in the world and it’s a privilege for me to be here.

Celtic’s new signing Kolo Toure claims that he is ready to put in the hard work and fight for his place at Celtic Park.

“I left a great club and I am joining a great club”, Toure said at his introductory press conference.
