Konami confirms £35 Metal Gear Solid V Definitive edition
Of course, this hasn’t exactly kept Konami on the good side of MGS fans, with many accusing Konami of cutting the game’s ending, and asking for a missing Chapter 3 to wrap things up. Instead, they are suggesting that the events that take place in those cut missions are meant to remain a mystery and that numerous plot points covered within them can be found within the game itself. Many fans hoped that the new definitive edition would “finish the game” and include the 51st mission and maybe any other pieces of cut content. Turns out that’s totally not the case and fans have reached out to Konami for answers and boy does it get messy.

Mission 51 was going to address a major plot thread that was left unresolved at the end of Phantom Pain.
Earlier this week, Konami revealed a definitve edition for Metal Gear Solid V that includes both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain along with every piece of DLC. Tashiro further noted, “Metal Gear Solid V has received collectively over 60 accolades and awards thus far”.
We may never know the full story behind why this content was cut from the original game, but it is interesting to see just how close to being finished these seemingly vital story sections were before they were trimmed from the final build. On top of that, the distress is most likely only made worse by the fact that this is the last entry to the Metal Gear Solid franchise under the care of Hideo Kojima. The split between Kojima and Konami came as a shock and upset fans of Metal Gear Solid, as well as those hoping for a reboot of the Silent Hill series, and many are still angry.
