It was Tseng’s third top-10 finish this year on the LPGA Tour, after only managing two in all of 2014.

“That’s just a testament of the wonderful person”, Korda said of Ko.

In today’s round, she started off strongly with five birdies but her only blemish came when she dropped a bogey at the par-four 11th hole.

Meanwhile, for defending champion Shanshan, it was her second time ending up on the runner-up podium in the tournament. I knew what I needed to do.

“I could have done better but I can take away a lot of positives from this tournament”. “It’s just who is going to make the most birdies at the end of the week….”

“She is definitely one of my closest friends out here”.

Jessica Korda received her trophy on the practice putting green behind the grandstand and immediately asked: “Where’s Natasha? So it’s just an incredible feeling”. “It’s been a little bit of a frustrating year”.

The long-hitter failed to qualify for the Solheim Cup team and was passed over as a captain’s pick.

“I feel like inspiring the younger generation is my objective”, Korda said. “Honestly, the last three weeks have been such a great time in my life”.

Jang Ha-na of South Korea carded a flawless six-under 65 to grab the halfway lead at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC). She opened with rounds of 69, 67 and 65 to take a two-stroke lead into the final round.

“I think I’m still in good shape after two days”.

While a few have struggled with the hot weather conditions this week with temperatures in the 90’s, Lin says the conditions aren’t that much different from what she experiences at home in China but still made sure to stay hydrated during her round. “It went straight to voicemail, but I did get a series of text messages”.

Ko finished with a 66.

Feng also had a 66, and Lewis shot 67.

“The other girls are making a lot of birdies and playing really good golf, so for me to win…”
