Kraft family hires Goldman Sachs to finance Boston soccer stadium
This, of course, is good news for the Revolution.

The Revolution have enlisted investment bank Goldman Sachs to help secure land and financing for a proposed soccer stadium in Boston, Boston.com’s Adam Vaccaro reported Wednesday.
According to the Globe report, plans for the stadium are still in the preliminary stages. A non-redacted portion of the packet obtained through a public records request by Boston.com, makes note of Goldman Sach’s intentions of “serving as underwriter on a future transaction”.
The Krafts shared simple renderings of the stadium site with state officials past year. On Wednesday, they announced the hiring of banking giant Goldman Sachs to help finance the stadium. At the time, the location was considered controversially considering that Boston’s Olympic bid committee was eying a site within walking distance of the Frontage Rd. site for a possible Olympic stadium.
Goldman Sachs has previously been at the center of major financing deals for professional sports teams, the most notable being Yankee Stadium, which opened in 2009. Before he got to Goldman Sachs, the leader of its stadium financing team worked with the Krafts to help finance Gillette Stadium, according to a January profile by Bloomberg.
Interestingly, the decision to build Gillette Stadium came in the wake of the unsuccessful attempts from the Krafts to build a publicly-funded stadium for the Patriots in Boston during the mid-1990s.

In a Twitter chat with fans late last month, MLS Commissioner Don Garber said he has seen renditions of the stadium.
