The recall applies to the three and four pound packages of cheese that have the “Best if Used By Date” of December 29, 2015 through January 4th 2016.

Multiple batches of Kraft Singles have been found to be a choking hazard due to the packaging film sticking to the cheese.

According to a press release from the company, the recall impacts select code dates and manufacturing codes of Kraft Singles individually-wrapped slices.

If the film sticks to the slice and is not removed, it could potentially cause problems while eating the cheese. The products have a Manufacturing Code S54 or S55.

Both are stamped on the larger boxes and the individual one pound packages inside. Approximately 36,000 cases of the recalled product were shipped to retailers in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Grand Cayman. The only varieties or codes included in the recall pertain to the single cheese slices.

Consumers who purchased the recalled item should not eat it, and return it to the store where it was purchased for an exchange or a full refund, or contact Kraft Heinz Consumer Relations at 1-800-423-3101. Kraft Heinz did not ship this product to Canada or any other regions.
