Correa, who turned 21 on September 22, received 17 first-place votes and 13 second-place votes to total 124 points.
“I think there is a way to top this year, and that’s to win the World Series, ” Bryant said.
Bryant finished his rookie campaign with a batting average of. “You want to be able to play in that atmosphere every single year”. “All that (business) stuff takes care of itself”.
I said it before: I think I played with a little chip on my shoulder this year. Bryant was charged with only one error in his final 25 games at third.
Bryant received all 30 first-place votes (150 points) to become the sixth Cub to win Rookie of the Year, joining Billy Williams (1961), Ken Hubbs (1962), Jerome Walton (1989), Kerry Wood (1998) and Geovany Soto (2008).
The 23-year-old Cubs third baseman tied Joc Pederson of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the most home runs by a rookie with 26. Each team now boasts a rookie of the year infielder.
The players’ association, and Bryant’s agent Scott Boras, protested the decision to keep him in the minor leagues as a bush-league call that delayed the player’s status as a free agent until after the 2021 season. Bryant helped the Cubs make it to the playoffs this season and he ended up getting all 30 first-place votes. With a group of rookies that also included Kyle Schwarber, Jorge Soler and Addison Russell, they got to the NL Championship Series before being swept by the NY Mets.

“We just feed off each other”, Bryant said to MLB.com. “Everybody struggled through the season, and we kind of leaned on each other as the young guys”. “It really means a lot not only for [my family], but me as well”.
