Echoing reservations that prosecution witness Kato Kaelin voiced in a Daily News review Monday, relatives of the slain Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman remain doubtful that “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” can truly capture the drama of the retired National Football League star’s murder trial – because the production team never asked them to weigh in.
“Before I got pregnant with Kendall, I had a miscarriage at three months”, she continues. But that’s typical in an abusive relationship-that the woman doesn’t speak out about how she’s being treated. In fact, interestingly enough, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and close friend of Nicole’s – who has never shied away from revealing anything about her family – has refused to answer the question in the past.
Jenner also revealed how she and the late Kardashian were extremely close to the Simpsons.
However, it wasn’t the specific actions of Kris Jenner or Kardashian that spurned the media attention – rather, it was the celebrity influence already present in the trial. I wish I had noticed the signs.
Kris admits that Nicole’s death “could have been prevented”, and that she wants her daughters’ generation to learn from her story.
“I’m older, more mature”, O.J. told ET at the time. Now, obviously the Kardashian name has household recognition, but if it wasn’t for the Simpson trial, it’s likely that wouldn’t have happened. “I follow my intuition”.
“People forget that two people got brutally murdered – chopped to pieces – and this is not entertainment”, Tanya told ET.
American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson premieres in the U.S. next week. Jenner explains, “If Nicole’s legacy can be protecting other women, then that would be a really positive thing”.
