Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny are set to team up for a film about the infamous axe murders of the Borden family. She is the live-in maid of Borden family who was at home when the murders happened.

Borden was described as a odd woman, who was arrested and tried for murdering her father and stepmother with an ax in 1892.
The murders of the Bordens are also notorious because the victims were struck with axe multiple times, which also influenced the following children’s rhyme: “Lizzie Borden took an axe/And gave her mother forty whacks”.
Waste Land’s Pieter Van Hees will be directing. Not only was Sullivan a permanent fixture within the household, she was also one of the key testimonies of the actual trial. The Lizzie Borden case has been explored in various films and television shows in the past. She was acquitted the following year. It spawned a number of movie and TV adaptations, including the 2014 Lifetime original movie Lizzie Borden Took an Ax and the 1975 TV movie The Legend of Lizzie Borden. Naomi Despres (“Kill the Messenger”) is producing the film, which The Solution will begin shopping at the upcoming AFM.
Stewart, best known for the “Twilight” franchise, most recently starred in the drama “Still Alice” and action comedy “American Ultra“.

The Lizzie Borden project – with Sevigny attached as star and Bryce Kass (“Outlaw Prophet: Warren Jeffs”) as scripter – was originally being developed by Playtone as a four-hour HBO miniseries in 2011. She just wrapped “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” for director Ang Lee as well as Woody Allen’s next film.
