Kubiak: DeMarcus Ware out 4-5 weeks, needs forearm surgery
But Denver’s defensive captain came back to record 3.5 sacks in the playoffs as the Broncos won Super Bowl 50.

Von Miller missed the Denver Broncos’ entire offseason because of an unsigned franchise tender.
DeMarcus Ware suffered an ulnar fracture Sunday in the Broncos’ Week 2 win over the Colts.
If Ware misses all five weeks, that means he’d miss games against the Bengals, Buccaneers, Falcons, Chargers and Texans.
Ware is expected to undergo further tests to determine whether he will need surgery or if he will be able to play with the injury.
Ware suffered the injury in the third quarter, after colliding with teammate Von Miller as they chased down Colts quarterback Andrew Luck in the pocket. He has four tackles and two sacks this season, and is now tied with Green Bay’s Julius Peppers for most career sacks among active players (136).
Ware left the locker room in a sling and soft cast. In the season opener against the Carolina Panthers, Ware had 1.5 sacks.
“It’s not bad at all”, Stephenson said, noting a similar injury in training camp only sidelined him a week. Although he was limited to 45 snaps in the first two weeks, it was enough playing time for him to make two sacks for a loss of 13 yards, three quarterback hits and four total tackles.
When the Broncos travel to Cincinnati this week, they’re not going to have DeMarcus Ware.
In March, Ware agreed to revise the final year of his three-year contract to reflect his new role as a pass-rush specialist.

“This is something we kind of went through with Virgil before”, Kubiak said, referring to an injury during offseason work.
