Kubiak downplays Peyton’s “big workout”
Gary Kubiak said Manning would have a “big workout” on Saturday to evaluate his progress in his rehab from a partially torn plantar fascia in his left foot. Broncos lost S David Bruton Jr.to broken right leg. He played 75 snaps with fractured fibula against Steelers thinking it was only bad bruise.

The offense is slightly more effective on a per-game and a per-possession basis with Osweiler than Manning, who will not practice this week after encountering foot soreness following two days of practice before last week’s loss to the Steelers. Even with Brock Osweiler persistently melting down in the second halves of games, Manning appears nowhere close to seeing the playing field again soon.
Osweiler will make his sixth straight start for the Broncos (10-4) when they host the Cincinnati Bengals (11-3) Monday night. He was too sore to practice Friday.
Manning is not expected to practice Wednesday or be active this week as he continues to focus on recovering.
“I think the guys will tell you I play with a lot of passion and hopefully a lot of the excitement for them”.
“Brock is our starter moving forward and we’re trying to get Peyton healthy”, Kubiak said Wednesday. I’m not having to win football games by myself.
“Everything’s not going to be ideal in a game – we want it to be, but it’s not going to be, that’s football – but to play with the best of your ability”, McCarron said. I like that routine, so that’s what we’re going to do this week. The Pro Bowl tight end’s concussion caused him to miss last week’s win over the San Francisco 49ers, and reports suggest he’ll miss this week as well.

Against Pittsburgh last week, Brock Osweiler threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns, but was shut out in the second half, throwing only 7-26 and recorded an interception. Only an injury or a complete collapse by Osweiler would get Manning back on the field at this point. After handing the New England Patriots their first loss of the season, Osweiler struggled against a mediocre Oakland Raiders team.
