This includes “audio montages that Kurt Cobain created” and recordings of the artist talking in between the musical tracks, including “a sketch comedy routine featuring Kurt voicing all of the characters.”

The soundtrack for recent Kurt Cobain film, Montage Of Heck, has been given a firm release date. However, with the upcoming DVD/Blu-Ray release of the film on November 6, its soundtrack accompaniment once again has the rumor mill churning in force. The DVD version of the film will be released on the same day.

The unheard music includes a 12-minute acoustic song by Cobain, who was known with Nirvana not only for his searing electric guitar but also his unplugged work.

Billboard reports that director Brett Morgen was permitted access to an archive of unreleased material, which will form the spine of the new release.

As for the demos, he adds, those run the gamut “from thrash to ragtime and everything in between” while remaining “familiar to Nirvana fans”.

When The Ellen DeGeneres Show kicks off its 13th season on Tuesday, September 8, it will have a new theme song written and recorded by P!nk. “His lyrics are really playful, and, at times, you can feel his smile and warmth coming through”.

The album is said to be “a lighter portrait of Kurt than one might expect”.

Morgen told AFP earlier this year that the newly discovered cassettes showed the various sides of Cobain: “The romanticism, the honesty, all of these different emotions”.
