Kurt Rambis sees Knicks ‘turning around real quick’
As another season winds down without the New York Knicks being involved in the postseason, rumors are swirling about the team’s next head coach.

Blatt is a solid coach.
Sports reported that while interim head coach Kurt Rambis is still the number one option of team president Phil Jackson to retain New York’s head coaching job in 2016-2017, the 56-year-old Blatt is one of the top names being considered for the unenviable position of trying to reestablish the Knicks as one of the top teams in the National Basketball Association.
Job 1: Putting the Knicks Before the Coach: With another playoff-less season concluding in IN on Tuesday night, Phil Jackson has the always contentious chore of anointing yet another Knicks head coach.
The Knicks have failed to make the playoffs for three straight seasons.
A source told The Post Blatt would be a long shot – unless Jackson decides to start passing the torch to GM Steve Mills, who played in the same backcourt at Princeton as the former Cavs coach.
There is good news here though the way I see it. The fact that sources are even saying that Blatt could be a candidate shows that Jackson hasn’t totally closed the door on looking at other coaching candidates.
Sunday’s game, a 93-89 loss to the Toronto Raptors, was Fan Appreciation Day, and Anthony said he wishes the team didn’t have to bid farewell to its fans so early.
Aside from Blatt also included in the list of possible coaches who are being eyed by the Knicks include interim Kurt Rambis, former Chicago Bulls mentor Tom Thibodeau, Mark Jackson and Scott Brooks. We are legitimately excited when there are reports saying that the Knicks will interview other coaches, while wanting to keep their bad current head coach. Overall, they have finished with a below-.500 record 12 times in 15 years. “But just the way that he was able to jump right in there [after taking over], get guys’ attention and get guys to play – usually in that situation it takes time”.
“I don’t think I can kind of get used to this feeling”, he said. “There’s a lot of fans that are not going to stick around and not be a fan, so I appreciate the true fans that stuck with this for not just this season, but the past couple of seasons”.

The New York Knicks struck gold in the 2015 NBA Draft when they selected Kristaps Porzingis. Rambis took over a team in disarray and hasn’t made the impact Jackson hoped for.
