Kurt Warner becomes first Iowan elected to Pro Football Hall of Fame
Owens being left out of the Hall of Fame is a pretty big head scratcher, especially since he is second in National Football League history in receiving yards to only the G.O.A.T Jerry Rice.

One of the greatest Philadelphia Eagles players of all time, Brian Dawkins was considered a shoe-in to be a member of this year’s Hall of Fame class.
Warner holds the franchise record for completion percentage (65.1), as well as 300-yard games (22) and consecutive games with a touchdown pass (22). He did have a very good career, but the Hall of Fame is not the Hall of Very Good – it’s for those players who added something special to the league.
Quarterbacks Jeff Garcia, McNabb and Romo produced their most single-season wins with Owens as their No. 1 wide receiver.
In his five years, Warner played in 61 games for the Cards with 57 starts. Bruce helped his teams appear in more Super Bowls and won a ring, but he never earned a first-team All-Pro honor.
His nine-catch, 122-yard performance while injured in Super Bowl XXXIX is a truly legendary showing that would have made him Super Bowl MVP had the Eagles pulled it out vs. the Patriots. Thanks to ALL my fans & supporters.
Against the suggestion of medical staff, Owens played in the Super Bowl despite still being in recovery from a severely sprained ankle and fractured fibula.
There is no reason to keep him out, just like there wasn’t a reason a year ago. And the receiver also known by two letters – TO – was on the outside looking in again. Like while in San Francisco when he danced on the Dallas Cowboy star at midfield after scoring a touchdown. They’d point to the distractions that Owens caused by enjoying some popcorn after a touchdown or dancing with cheerleaders. That was his response to media reports saying he fell asleep during team meetings.
If you’ve watched any NFL football at all over the last two decades, then you already know Owens’ resume. He trails only Jerry Rice in that category. On paper, he had a better career than current Hall of Famers like Michael Irvin, Chris Carter and Andre Reed.

Here’s the deal: Davis was the best player at the running back position from 1996 to ’98, or at least the first guy considered in the discussion.
