Kylo Ren Is Smoldering Away in New ‘Star Wars: Force Awakens’ Still

If there was any doubt over who would grow to become the face of JJ Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the number of promotional images of the movie’s main villain have cleared it up in recent weeks. The first one featured new villains Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson). Finn (John Boyega) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) – meanwhile, take to the dessert for the bonus cover.

In other Star Wars news, some photos that may or may not be helmets from the set of Rogue One got leaked via Donnie Yen’s Instagram, but the original post has disappeared.

And don’t forget to run, not walk! The new image above is from Empire.

The J.J. Abrams movie will be the focus of Empire magazine’s next issue.

In the picture, the dark-side acolyte is crouched in what appears to be a battle position, presented as a force to be reckoned with, as the light from his tri-pronged energy sword casts an ominous glow over his cloaked visage.

Josh Silverman, the Executive Vice President of Disney Consumer Products’ Global Licensing department, had a few words to say about the much anticipated “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” LEGO sets. Fans will also be able to pick up masks for Chewie, Kylo Ren and First Order Stormtroopers.

What we do know is that Ren is merely a title that Driver’s villain has inherited, and that he’s obsessed with all things Darth Vader, worshipping the fallen harbinger of death as though he was a God. He’s the most interesting character to enter the Star Wars fray in generations, according to series stalwart Lawrence Kasdan, who stated that “there’s never been a character quite like the one that Adam plays”. He is actually part of an intergalactic organization known as Knights of Ren. It would seem that “Star Wars” fans will have a memorable whole day to look forward to. Abrams interview tomorrow. Until then, enjoy this latest sneak peek.
