Kyrgios, Gavrilova & Nadal headline Seven’s Australian Open night one lineup

Burgos managed to hold his serve only once in the first set, which 2009 Australian Open champion Nadal sealed in 23 minutes. The Pacific Eden and the Pacific Explorer will be departing Sydney for Melbourne on January 17 and 19 respectively, and fares include general admission tickets for two day sessions and one night session at the Australian Open with return transfers to Melbourne Park.

Rafael Nadal’s Australian Open rivals should be anxious after the Spaniard said his game will improve the deeper he goes at 2018’s first grand slam.

But it didn’t take long for the young Aussie to find his voice, ridiculing the American reporter in his post-match news conference for asking him a question about Colin Kaepernick.

The 22-year-old Australian clinched his fourth title at the lead-up Brisbane International, easing concerns over a troublesome hip while raising excitement levels about his prospects at his home grand slam.

The men hardly distinguished themselves Monday, either.

Ryan Harrison and McDonald were the only Americans to progress to the second round of the men’s draw with seeded Jack Sock and John Isner crashing out along with surprise early exits from Croatian Borna Coric and South Africa’s Kevin Anderson. Meanwhile, multiple Grand Slam Doubles victor Todd Woodbridge will be answering burning questions from fans onboard the Pacific Explorer. That is where there have been some real positive signs recently. Cilic, the 2014 US Open champion, is set to square off against either Portugal’s Joao Sousa or Dustin Brown of Germany. Both were said and thought to be over the hill but at the 2017 Australian Open, they showed [they met in the final] that they were not ready to abdicate their thrones. I just have to move forward, believe in the team I have.

“Last year is last year”. There was a battle of generations as 20-year-old Andy Rublev downed a very stubborn David Ferrer, who is 15 years his senior at 35. “You can’t live in the previous year”.

Last year’s semi-finalist Vandeweghe said flu symptoms left her struggling to breathe on court during the loss. Remarkably, she has not won a match anywhere since, extending her losing streak to eight with a 2-6, 7-6 (2), 6-2 setback against 34th-ranked Zhang Shuai of China on Monday.

Shapovalov’s colourful game, including a dreamy single-handed backhand, would look spectacular in any choice of kit, although the garish pink and black strip he wore made sure there was no mistaking him on a blustery Court Two.

“Tennis is definitely a roller coaster”.

“But to go out there in front of the crowd again, just trying to play well, I was a bit nervous”. It will be OK.

‘I know I’m hitting the ball well, ‘ Kyrgios said.
