Kyrie Irving Returns Soon? LeBron James Leads

That’s a blanket statement and could apply to a number of things that happened on the court against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cleveland got out to a quick 13-5 lead thanks to three early New York’s turnovers.

For the Cavs, LeBron James had 37 points and 2 rebounds.

Blake Griffin scored 34 points, including a crucial jumper with 17 seconds left, and Los Angeles rallied to defeat visiting Detroit Pistons, ending a two-game skid. James scored five points in the final 9 minutes of the quarter, but was the only Cleveland player to score in that time, and Milwaukee led 70-61 after three quarters.

The Knicks increased their advantage over the Cavaliers to 10 points when Porzingis buried a three-pointer on New York’s first possession of the second half.

“I just went with the flow of the game and let it dictate what I had to do”, Williams said. There was very little ball movement, just a lot of standing around…

The Knicks were able to withstand a strong start from the Cavaliers to eventually take control of the game. Knicks guard Arron Afflalo, making his Garden debut after being out with a strained left hamstring, tied it at 84 on a turnaround jumper with 1:01 to play.

With the Knicks leading 82-78, Dellavedova found a cutting LeBron who had his shot blocked by Anthony.

NY finished the third quarter on a 6-0 run to enter the final period with a 72-66 lead.

Like Anthony in the second quarter, James did it on both ends. “We have to get better in every facet of the game, and that’s every single facet of the game”.

Meanwhile, rookie Kristaps Porzingis is giving constant excitement to the Big Apple crowd as the rookie continues to shed his “raw” label as he is nearly averaging a double-double this season with 11.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game – where he leads the team in the latter statistic. “It’s hard to stop one another”, James said. Afflalo easily backed down and shot over Matthew Dellavedova to tie the game back up. Mo Williams had a rough night shooting the basketball.

This had all of the makings of how the previous games have went, except for the ending.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Zach Randolph’s put-back basket with less than a second left and a season-high 31 points from Marc Gasol led the Memphis Grizzlies to a 101-100 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. He scored 31 points and doled-out six assists overall while matching the Knicks’ 12 points in the final stanza all by his lonesome.

After converting eight of his 11 shots from the field and four of his five three-point attempts en route to scoring a game-high 22 points in the first half, Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony tallied just four in the third and fourth quarters combined. LeBron has 62 points and 14 assists in his last two games. In particular missing the potential game tying shot.
