There is “no reason to believe” that Prince’s death was suicide, the sheriff of the Minnesota county where the singer had his home has said after a post-mortem.

Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said at a press conference that the singer had died alone and exhibited “no obvious signs of trauma”. “The rest is under investigation”.

Prince was found unresponsive in an elevator at Paisley Park, his estate in suburban Minneapolis.

President Barack Obama prepared for a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron in London Friday in an unusual way – by listening to the late performer Prince’s “Purple Rain” and “Delirious” on an old-school turntable.

“He really loved you all”, said Nelson to the hundreds of grieving mourners while leaving Paisley Park on Thursday, “Thank you for loving him back”.

Medical examiners are working with the Sheriff’s Office.

“It will include his medical history, his social history and his family’s medical history, as well”, she later added. “Anything which could be relevant to the investigation will be taken into consideration”. A spokesperson for the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Ramsey, Minnesota said no preliminary findings will be released until the results are complete.

And former cast member Tim Kazurinsky posted buzzed-about-but-never-seen footage of Prince jamming during the afterparty for the show’s 40th anniversary special previous year. The medical emergency prompted the pilot of his private jet to make an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois as the superstar flew home from a gig in Georgia. The night after that, Prince hosted a dance party at Paisley Park, where some fans said he looked fine and seemed irked by reports of an illness.

He has been acclaimed as a major figure in USA popular music and pop culture for over three decades with hits such as “Purple Rain”, “When Doves Cry” and more.

He said he took advantage of a turntable at Winfield House, the home of U.S. Ambassador’s Matthew Barzun, to listen to some Prince records Friday morning.
