La La Land: first trailer for new film from Whiplash director
Unlike Crazy, Stupid, Love, the movie that made fans ‘ship Gosling and Stone as a couple that needed to happen in real life, this dark trailer shows a different side of the fictional couple: one that struggles and (maybe) overcomes together.

Whiplash writer/director Damien Chazelle moves from brutal musical drama to a more whimsical Hollywood musical, as People Magazine got the first sneak peek footage of Gosling singing one of the film’s original songs. According to the Wrap back in 2014, the film “follows a pair of dreamers – aspiring actress Mia, who’s lonely and desperate to fit in, and cocky, charismatic jazz pianist Sebastian – who fall in love in Los Angeles”.
Featuring music by Justin Hurwitz and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the melancholy “City of Stars” finds Gosling crooning, “City of stars, are you shining just for me?/ City of stars, there’s so much that I can see”.

LA LA LAND is released in Irish cinemas January 2017. This is a wonderful teaser trailer as it does a flawless job of previewing what this film may be without flooding us with plot and character details. It also stars J.K Simmon, John Legend, and Finn Wittrock. Why a musical romance set in a stylised Los Angeles starring the ridiculously talented Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
