While Barcelona will most likely be without four time Ballon d’Or victor Lionel Messi when they travel to the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid will be tired of the threat posed by the deadly duo of Suarez and Neymar, who are wreaking havoc among the opposition defences.

Things started out well for Real Madrid under flawless playing conditions, with team captain Sergio Ramos scoring against his former team in the 22nd minute but injuring his shoulder with his bicycle kick shot-on-goal in the process and having to leave the pitch.

Ever Banega and Fernando Llorente scored in the second half to give Sevilla a 3-2 win.

Sevilla FC ended Real Madrid’s undefeated run beating them emphatically 3-2. Yevhen Konoplyanka sent the ball towards the back post, evading the custodian’s grasp and it landed at the feet of Immobile, who arrowed in from close range but a tight angle.

We all want our sons to do us proud, but Cristiano Ronaldo looks to have made one key parenting faux pas if a recent video released is anything to go by.

Messi underlined his status as one of the best players in history last season when he scored 60 goals and set up 28 more in 60 appearances, helping the Blaugrana capture a Primera Division, Champions League and Copa del Rey treble.

“That the team is growing and improving in key aspects of the game is obvious”, he told the official Barcelona website.

Juanfran will also be absent after sustaining a thigh injury in Atletico Madrid’s 1-0 win over Sporting Gijon on Sunday.

The young striker converted with a spectacular volley after flicking the ball over Enzo Roco before unleashing a spectacular volley into the top corner.

Hernan Perez leveled for the visitors just after halftime but Raul Garcia headed home the victor for Bilbao midway through the second half.

Rafa Benitez seemed at a loss as to what happened: “We weren’t able to manage the situation”, he said Sunday evening.

Wasteful in front of goal, confused in defense and utterly outplayed all around the park, Real Madrid did nothing to quell the fears of fans who saw their recent performance against PSG as a sign that Madrid could be in trouble. Lacazette, last season’s league top scorer with 27 goals, scored a brilliant first goal in the 41st minute, pounced for the second in the 59th and rounded goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier to stroke in the third in injury time.
