Labour At War Over ‘Trotsky Entryists’ Claim
The Harborough Constituency Labour Party (CLP) last night held a secret ballot which came out by 67 to seven in favour of nominating current leader Mr Corbyn over challenger Owen Smith.

There has already been concern about the initial date of the leadership announcement falling on September 24; the same day as the annual Labour Women’s Conference.
“They see the Labour Party as a vehicle for revolutionary socialism, and they’re not remotely interested in winning elections, and that’s a problem”. I’m under no illusions that we’re living through unsafe political times – the like of which I haven’t seen during my three decades in our movement.
“That there has been an increase in members of proscribed organisations attempting to join the party, in particular members of the Socialist Party (formerly Militant) and the Alliance for Workers’ Liberty (formerly Socialist Organiser)”.
A Jeremy for Labour spokesman described Mr Watson’s claims as “baseless conspiracy theories” which patronise members. And they’ve had it.
“Whether people support Jeremy or Owen, they are all saying the same thing – that Labour can now win in Southport and that they want to get involved in helping us fight for every vote”.
“We have to have a strategy which builds the best possible relationship with our sister parties and unions all across Europe, whether they’re part of the EU or not”.
“Jeremy can’t do that and that’s why we need to change the leader of the Labour party”. “Looking forward to working with them all in years ahead”.
Clive Sheldon QC, appearing for Mr McNicol and the Labour Party, asked three appeal judges on Thursday to set aside the High Court decision.
Cllr Crooks revealed he had personally written to Owen Smith, citing the quote “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” from George Orwell’s Animal Farm – a warning of the hypocrisy of governments which proclaim equality of citizens but give power to an elite.
He said: “I think that a lot of GMB members like myself, a lot of people in my local branch, are asking the question: how leading was, for example, the actual email that went out?”
As Labour’s internal war intensified, deputy leader Tim Watson also accused “Trotsky entryists” of manipulating young party members.

As reported by the Guardian, Watson sent the leader’s office a four-page document, based on publicly available information, detailing what he said was evidence that Trotskyists had been attending meetings of grassroots pro-Corbyn Momentum pressure group and seeking to influence the Labour leadership election.
