Labour leadership: Corbyn and Smith to stage Glasgow debate

In a statement that prompted Mr McNicol’s retort, Mr McDonnell said: “Labour party members will not accept what appears to be a rigged purge of Jeremy Corbyn supporters”.

The Jeremy for Labour campaign called on Pontypridd MP Mr Smith to retract his remarks at an event in Hammersmith.
