Labour officials in legal bid to reinstate leadership votes block for recruits
Indeed, 45% of those who voted for Labour at the last general election say he is performing badly in his role as party leader.

In a statement, the union said: “Unite’s policy conference, made up of approximately 1,000 rank-and-file representatives and held three weeks ago, decided by an overwhelming majority to support Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour Party”.
“Anti-Semitism has no part in a progressive party”.
“The biggest concern for me right now is we need a healer, if we don’t heal those divisions which have opened up in the last ten months I think they have the potential to destroy the Labour Party which is not something I’d like to see happen”, Mr Bradshaw said.
“Rather than patronizing members and peddling baseless conspiracy theories about ‘Trotsky entryists, ‘ he should be working with Jeremy to unite our party so that we can get back to campaigning to dislodge this Tory government, and help elect a Labour government in its place”. The report was harshly criticized by British Jews.
The decision is being appealed by the Labour party today. As a member of the Labour Party’s National Executive Committee, Watson voted to keep Corbyn from automatically appearing on the ballot as well as hiking the registered supporter fee from £3 to £25 – something obviously more likely to affect someone who doesn’t qualify for the national living wage than a few years into a career.
Mr Smith said the European Union was the “biggest disagreement between Jeremy and myself” and stressed he did not blame the leader for the vote to leave.
He said: “They’re being defeated politically now and they’re using the same arguments they used against us of a party within a party against Momentum, against any left opposition that develops”.
“MPs attempting to overthrow Jeremy Corbyn should remember they represent the very members who put them forward for election”.
Mr Burnham defended his neutral stance in the Labour leadership battle, after a former ally hit out at him. I was determined that our members would have their say.
Corbyn was a great backbench MP, but in many respects he’s just not able to lead.
Labour leadership hopeful Owen Smith has pitched into the future for housing in London – pledging 70,000 new homes a year.
He suggested a return to Labour’s old “electoral college”, which gave unions a third of the vote in leadership elections. An email in Roache’s name linking to the online vote told them to vote “with your head and not your heart”.
But no local CLPs have yet voted in favour of his opponent Owen Smith. He said he did not want the United Kingdom to be a “bargain basement” island with low taxes and low workers rights.
“Owen Smith is someone who can reunify the party both in parliament and in the country”, he said.

He added that he did not want to be engaged in a “protest movement talking to itself” and that Labour could only win back power when it is winning in swing seats like Nuneaton, Cardiff North and Milton Keynes.
